"Just Being" in the Moment
by Jason Musgrave

Jason has lived several years in the "greater Still
Waters community," spent many hours splitting wood
with Tom with which to heat his home, and is now working
at Mount Pisgah Academy as Plant-Services Director.
Still Waters has been a tremendous blessing to me and my
family over the past several years, and has become an integral
part of our lives.
It is a place where I have found rest and refuge from the
hustle and bustle of a hectic daily life, a place that invites
deep, meaningful conversation, and yet the accompanying
vulnerability has always been met with a profound sense
of security.
Still Waters is an ideal blend of physical facilities,
small group dynamics, and one-on-one mentorship with Delcy.
Turning down the lane onto the property for time spent "away,"
I've always felt a subtle invitation to slow down, take
a deep breath, and "just be" in the moment. I
have fond memories of picnics on the lawn, Sabbath afternoons
spent with good friends sledding on the hill, sitting on
the swing reflecting on scriptures, my daughter's dedication,
and even many hours spent in solitude splitting wood on
crisp winter days.
Delcy Kuhlman has been instrumental along my journey of
spiritual discernment. She is always available (even for
a 6 am appointment) for spiritual guidance, or simply a
reflective conversation about the journey that lies ahead.
I consider her mentorship and sage advice to be a bright
light in my life. As I write this my heart is warmed (even
from 600 miles away) thinking of Delcy, Still Waters, and
the community of true friends that has developed around
it. |
